Alphanumeric brands consists of letters and numbers. They are used as a whole brand name like 3M or product extensions like windows 95, 98, 10, etc. Further alphanumeric domains are divided into round vs non-round.
According to Author Gunasti and Ozcan round numbers like S200 is conceived by consumer to be more superior comparing to a brand like S198, or S203. The study also tells us that by increasing the number component in a brand name than changing the letter component yields more consumer reaction. Like Audi3, Audi4, is more better than Mercedes C350, E350, etc. Consumer like an increment pattern which is easily identified when numbers are used. And, with letters it’s not that transparent. Mercedes E350 is superior to Mercedes C350 simply because E comes after the letter C. But, consumer can’t distinguish the same instantaneously.
